How to Live Your Best Life: 3 Health Tips Everyone Should Follow

Are you looking for #healthgoals for 2022? Try these 3 tips for your most fascinating year yet!

I bet you’re planning to make some health-related changes in 2022, right?

Lemme guess, you’re going to: lose those 10 covid pounds?  Build more muscle?  Fit into your high school jeans?

Girl, I see you and I love your noble ambitions, and I hope you know that your Fiver tribe is rooting for you.

However, if you know you want to feel more energized and healthier in 2022 but haven’t figured out how you’re going to do it, I’m also rooting for you.

And to help, I’ve put together 3 ways you can get started on a healthier you in 2022.

These habits are easy to keep, and once you stick with them, are sure to give you noticeable results.

Let’s do it!

1. Get your rest.

Un-fun fact – we are actually being called the ‘tired’ generation. Millennials are sleeping less, doing more and are apparently perpetually complaining of being exhausted

No wonder we have a coffee habit!

Now I’m not saying a caramel latte isn’t’ hella delicious. I’m just pointing out that it’s super important for us to be getting more sleep.

Lack of sleep, especially quality sleep can contribute to deterioration in our mental health and our physical health.

Excessive fatigue can affect our judgement and compromises our ability to self-regulate. It makes weight management harder (like we need anything in that area to be harder) and people who practice poor sleep habits are more often diagnosed with depression and other mental challenges.

So, to ensure that you are your happiest, healthiest and most fascinating in 2022, try being deliberate about improving your sleep patterns. Here are some simple ways you can start doing so tonight.

  • Cut back on your coffee / caffeine intake and drink coffee earlier in the day (have your latte before 10 am)
  • Darken your room – That glowing cellphone charging right next to your bed could be keeping you awake or disrupting your sleep.
  • Have a soothing night time routine -chamomile tea and a good book is not cliché
  • Journal – sometimes our minds wouldn’t quiet down because they have so much going on. Dumping your thoughts out on paper is a great way to have a restful night. This joy journal is perfect for just that. Buy it on amazon here: https://amzn.to/3qVCk2c

2. Drink Water (and mind your business)

Are you a Patrice Roberts Fan? I am and I can’t tell you how excited I am about her new hit song ‘Drink water and mind your business” https://youtu.be/JqKWQ7FsuQY

Now, while she has some pretty strong opinions about dealing with messy and ‘haterish’ people, she was spitting straight facts when she talked about the importance of drinking water.

Drinking water has many health benefits including:

  •  It delivers oxygen throughout the body
  • It boosts skin health and beauty
  • It helps to boost mental clarity
  • It is a natural appetite suppressant
  • It’s cheaper than other drinks

Actually, drinking more water has been the one of my 2021 goals that I totally smashed. From August to December, I drank 1 gallon of water almost every day.

I started the habit as a way to help regulate my hormones, but it totally helped me to get clearer skin, eat less and feel more energetic. In November I even hosted a 30-day challenge to encourage my fiver tribe to stay healthy and hydrated. It was a wonderful success, check out the highlights here. https://bit.ly/34AeLof

Drinking more water is an awesome habit to take on in 2022, you should aim for at least 2 Litres a day.

If you need water bottles to keep you on track, I got you boo. Check out my baby sis’s store Retail Circle Grenada to pick up one of these beauties.https://www.instagram.com/p/CWYvBDRrQv1/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

3. Detoxing and Intermittent fasting

Providing your Medical Doctor agrees, these last suggestions can be great ways to enhance your health in 2022.

Food detoxification is a great way to rest your body and promote healthy eating habits. Doing a detox for a little 3 days can help to cleanse your body of toxins, increase energy levels and reduce inflammation in your body. I did a juice detox with Anasi all is well in 2020 and that was the best gift I gave to myself that year. The first 2 days were a struggle but at the end of the 7 days I felt clear, happy and healthy. Check her out here. https://www.instagram.com/anasiholisticservices/

Intermittent fasting is another great way to improve your health in 2022. this type of fasting is does not really focus on what you are eating but on when you are eating where you basically you leave a 6 – 8 hour break between meals. There are many benefits to this including:

  • Suppresses inflammation
  • Stabilizes blood sugar
  • Aids in weight loss
  • Helps to improve brain function and memory.
