Spoiler Alert – the best is yet to come!
Turning 40 can seem like a daunting life eventuality. I remember when I used to feel like I’m getting older, feeling stuck, feeling unaccomplished and worried that I’d never have any time to catch up.

For the last 4 years, I’ve had my share of these worries, but as the final days approach, I’m overcome by excitement and curiosity about how fascinating life can get after age 40.
If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed, here are three reasons why millennials should not be worried about turning age 40:
1. We’re still young!
Turning 40 is a fantastic age, you’re old enough to do what you want and young enough to do it. Yes, friend, you are young enough. A CNN article recently reported that millennials are “redefining what it means to be middle-aged”. We are full of life and living it to the fullest. We travel far, eat well and invest in ourselves. Further, we are very open to embracing new opportunities and experiences, just take a look at the number of entrepreneurs, influencers and creatives that exist today.

So don’t worry about getting older – there is no time limit, and you still have plenty of time to achieve your goals and dreams.
2. We are world changers
Millennials are now known for being activists hello – from ‘Black Lives Matter’ and ‘Me Too’ social movements are examples that when we care about a matter, we get moving.
We are influential, as a matter of fact, as the largest demographic to use technology our usage patterns pretty much dictates how the world’s algorithm works.

We are also very politically active, from making America great again to supporting the transformational agenda in Grenada – we are the movers and shakers.… in other words, we are part of a generation that’s literally changing the world.
As you enter your 40s, you can use your experience and influence to continue to make a positive impact on the world around you.
3. The best is yet to come
Listen, we have so much to look forward to. I’m finding that as I turn 40, I’m taking more time for reflection and growth.
As we enter this new decade of our lives, we should take the time to recognise our strengths and weaknesses, take stock of and celebrate our accomplishments so far and decide on new goals for the future.

So friend, don’t worry – turning 40 is just another milestone in your journey through life.
Embrace it with open arms and keep moving forward!
