I’ve discovered something amazing lately – the real glow-up isn’t just about looking good; it’s also about believing in our potential to grow and improve. In other words, the real glow-up is a growth mindset ✨️
So, what exactly is a growth mindset? Psychology Today defines it as the belief that we can develop and enhance our abilities and talents over time. In other words, we can keep learning and improving throughout life.
This is especially important for women, who often face stereotypes and biases that can shake our confidence and lead to self-doubt or cause us to question our worthiness and hinder us from enjoying a fascinating life.
The good news is that research shows women with a growth mindset are more likely to be brave, adventurous, and resilient in the face of challenges. So, if you know you are capable of achieving your goals but have difficulty overcoming a setback, here are some tips to get started.
Let me know your favorite, and if you have other growth habits to share, leave a comment so we can all learn and grow together!
1. Choosing happiness over history
Remember this: Growth requires change, and one of the most powerful ways to show that we are growing is by learning to let go of the past and embrace our incredible future. Anger, hurt, resentment, and shame drain our ability to create the amazing life we deserve.
One of the most valuable skills we can develop is letting go of what no longer serves us. So, my friend, let go and stop dwelling on the past with regret.
Wishing you were as fit as you once were won’t change the fact that you can improve your health today. Stressing about your past accomplishments or financial status keeps you from seizing the opportunities right in front of you.
Embrace a growth mindset and remember that the best time for change is today. Your power to create the life you desire lies in the decisions you make now. So, forgive, release, and step into your fascinating future with confidence.
2. Celebrate your Successes
At this age, I’ve found that success is the end result of a series of high-value personal decisions.
Yes, there is a bit of luck involved, but a delicate balance of talent, hard work, consistency, dedication, and preparation leads to our desired outcome.
Considering that success does not occur by chance, it’s regrettable that we often only celebrate major achievements.
Throughout our journey to achieving our big successes, we often overlook the smaller efforts that lead to those accomplishments. It’s important to recognize and celebrate these efforts. While you may be eagerly waiting for a major breakthrough in your life, don’t forget to acknowledge and celebrate the smaller victories along the way. These could be anything from successfully completing a 3-day fast, sticking to a 21-day glute challenge, earning a degree, maintaining personal boundaries, saving money by cooking healthy meals, to finding peace of mind by learning to trust in yourself and your faith in God.
Let’s remember to celebrate our achievements as we strive for success. Embracing a growth mindset and celebrating our progress will make our journey even more fulfilling.

3. Feedback
If we are truly committed to personal growth and improvement, we must actively seek and embrace constructive feedback from trusted individuals.
Those of us with a growth-oriented mindset actively seek out and act upon feedback from respected and trusted sources, such as our parents, church leaders, work mentors, or wise friends.
At this age, I really could not do life without solid people. It is essential to surround ourselves with individuals who have known us at different stages of our lives and who can offer positive and empowering feedback to us. We must consider their suggestions and integrate them into our lives.
And friend, when someone takes the time to provide us with honest feedback, please express your gratitude towards them. In today’s world, where people often hide behind screens and express sentiments they would never say in person, genuine individuals who care enough to tell us the truth deserve our sincere appreciation.
If we are committed to growing and improving ourselves, we should be open to receiving constructive feedback from individuals we trust.

4. Find Your Tribe
This final point extends on the last, to achieve long-term success, it’s better to work with others.
Our growth demands the support and guidance of mentors, role models, and peers who can inspire, encourage, and challenge us to become more empowered.
Growth can be scary, but the right tribe holds the light to guide you when things get uncertain.
I love seeing women embracing collaboration over competition and linking up to expand their experiences.
